DSC scans were performed in a Mettler DSC822e apparatus, using 270 µl high pressure cells. Sample was heated from 25 to 380°C with a heating rate of 2°C/min. The sample size was 8.1 mg for diisobutylaluminium hydride pure.

Diisobutylaluminium hydride(DIBAL-H) pure gives an endothermic effect during heating from around 80 to 280°C, followed by a sharp exothermic effect of the diisobutylaluminium hydride decomposition. The total heat of the exothermic effect is 371 J/g. This is below the 500 J/g limit. So testing on explosive properties does not have to be performed.
