Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, the study is not technically feasible because the test substance rapidly hydrolyzes in water with a half-life less than 1 second (0.02 minutes) to form methanol and boric acid. The log Kow of methanol is less than 3, indicating that the product has a low potential for bioaccumulation. Boric acid has a low potential for bioaccumulation due to its high water solubility (49 g/L) and low log Kow (-1.09).
