Description of key information

OECD 111, GLP, key study, validity 1: no potential for hydrolysis.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One key study is available to assess the hydrolysis potential of the test substance. The hydrolysis as a function of pH was assessed according to the OECD Guideline 111 with GLP statement. The objective of the study was to determine the rate of hydrolysis of the test substance in different buffers and at different temperatures.

The preliminary test showed that the test item was stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 at 50°C during 5 days but at pH 1.2, hydrolysis reached 13.6% in the same conditions. Based on this result, a definitive test was conducted at pH 1.2 and at 37°C for 2 and 4 hours. No hydrolysis of the 0.01 M test item (1.04 g/L) was observed in these conditions.

In conclusion, the test substance has no potential for hydrolysis.
