First-aid measures

General information:

If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

If inhaled:

If breathed in, move person into fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of skin contact:

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

In case of eye contact:

If easy to do, remove contact lens, if worn. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

If swallowed:

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemicals, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam.

Specific hazards during firefighting: Hazardous decomposition products may be formed under fire conditions (see section Stability and reactivity). Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment.

Additional information:

Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Refer to protective measures listed in sections Handling and storage and Exposure controls/personal protection. Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Remove all sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions:

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

For personal protection see section Exposure controls/personal protection. Use only in well ventilated areas. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Normal measures for preventive fire protection. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. No sparking tools should be used.

Requirements for storage areas and containers:

Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well ventilated place. Keep in an area equipped with solvent resistant flooring.

Advice on common storage:

Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Other data: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: Provide adequate ventilation.

Personal protective equipment:

Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respirator with filter type A.

Hand protection: Remarks: Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous substance and specific to place of work. For special applications, we recommend clarifying the resistance to chemicals of the aforementioned protective gloves with the glove manufacturer.

Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance.

Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. General industrial hygiene practice. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Environmental exposure controls:

General advice: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: The product is chemically stable.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Incompatible materials: Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: Build-up of dangerous/toxic fumes possible in cases of fire/high temperature. nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke).

Disposal considerations

Disposal: In accordance with local and national regulations. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
