Description of key information

Using the validated CAESAR BCF model, the BCF of the substance was estimated to be 126 L/kg.
Using the BCFBAF tool of EpiSuite 4.0, the maximum BCF of the substance was given by the regression-based method as 352.8 L/kg.

Additional information

For the registered substance, no study on bioaccumulation was available. However, the BCF was determined with the two QSARs, i.e. the CAESAR BCF model and the BCFBAF tool of EpiSuite 4.0. With BCF of 126 L/kg and a maximum of 352.8 L/kg , respectively, both QSARs gave comparable results.

The overall maximum BCF of 352.8 L/kg, which was obtained with the regression-based method of the BCFBAF tool of EpiSuite 4.0, was considered as key value.

Considering this value, the supposed metabolism, i.e. cleavage into respective acid and alcohol, and the readily biodegradability, which considerably reduces exposure of the aquatic compartment, a bioaccumulation study in fish is not expected to contribute to the assessment of the substance. Therefore, the respective vertebrate study is considered to be scientifically not justified.
