Description of key information

The substance hydrolysis fast in contact with water, thus, it was technically not feasible to perform the study. Instead water solubility was determined to be 29.991 mg/L for the oligomer n=5 and 10.955 mg/L for the oligomer n=6.

According to column 2 of Annex VII Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the study for water solubility was not conducted as the substance is hydrolytically instable.


Thus the experimental determination was replaced by an appropriate calculation method. The result was determined by QSAR estimation with EPIWIN using WATERNT v1.01 that is one of the programmes recommended in the REACH Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment (2013), Chapter R.7.1.7.4. as it meets the criteria set out in Annex XI, 1.3 of the REACH Regulation. Water solubility was determined to be 29.991 mg/L for the oligomer n=5 and 10.955 mg/L for the oligomer n=6. The value of the oligomer n=5 was chosen as key parameter for risk assessment as this oligomer is the main component of the UVCB substance.
