Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
phototransformation in air
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2012
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model and falling into its applicability domain, with adequate and reliable documentation / justification
Justification for type of information:
(Q)SAR: endpoint-specific documentation on the prediction
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Estimation method AOP of “EPI Suite TM v4.10”, owned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

A calculation was performed with the estimation method AOP of “EPI Suite TM v4.10”, owned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The results obtained was as follows:

The half-life for the reaction of vapour-phase d-phenothrin in air with ozone is estimated to be 38 minutes (Ozone reaction DT50 = 38.378 minutes).

Oxygen species are involved in the photodegradation of phenothrin on glass, suggesting that phenothrin may be susceptible to photodegradation by sunlight.

The results are also presented by HSDB (Hazardous Substances Data Bank) on Toxnet Toxicological Data Network, United States National Library of Medicine.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable
Conclusions:
It can be concluded that d-Phenothrin is unstable under the influence of light.
Executive summary:

The photolysis was estimated using the Estimation method AOP of “EPI Suite TM v4.10”, owned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It was concluded that d-Phenothrin is unstable under the influence of light.
