Administrative data
First-aid measures
Following inhalation: Get immediate medical advice/attention.
Following skin contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
Following eye contact: IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
Following ingestion: If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: not known
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: none
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Product itself does not burn. Co-ordinate fire-fighting measures to the fire surroundings.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Use water spray for cooling containers. Heating up till decomposition forms hydrogen bromide and triethylamine.
Advice for firefighters: Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Avoid contact with eyes. Use personal protection equipment. Remove persons to safety.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Collect in closed and suitable containers for disposal. Dispose of contents/container to industrial incineration plant.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Collect in closed and suitable containers for disposal. Clean contaminated objects and areas thoroughly observing environmental regulations. Ensure waste is collected and contained.

Personal protection equipment: see section Exposure controls / Personal protection
Disposal: see section Disposal considerations
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: Wear appropriate eye/face protection. If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation should be used if possible.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: No special fire protection measures are necessary. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. See section Stability and Reactivity. No storage class.
Specific end uses: The substance should only be used in industrial settings or for professional use by skilled operators. The substance must not be supplied to the general public.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters: Occupational exposure limit value: none
Additional information on plant design: See Section Handling and Storage.
Personal protective equipment: Wear appropriate safety clothing and eye/face protection. Eye/face protection: Goggles
Protective measures: When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: Stable at room temperature.
Chemical stability: The substance is stable under anticipated conditions of temperature and pressure. Decompostion takes place from temperatures above approx. 250°C.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous polymerisation.
Conditions to avoid: Reaction takes place at temperatures above approx. 250°C.
Incompatible materials: The product develops bromine in contact with oxidising agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: Heating up till decomposition forms hydrogen bromide and triethylamine.
Disposal considerations
Product disposal / Packaging disposal: Dispose of according to legislation. Dispose of contents/container to industrial incineration plant.
