Description of key information

One key study and one supporting study are presented. The key study demonstrates that the test substance 2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol has been found to be inherently biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria

Additional information

The test substance 2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol has been found to be inherently biodegradable with 30% DOC removal in an OECD 302B study after 28 days. As such removal in the environment is expected to be rapid and complete.
