Description of key information

The bioaccumulation test on fish does not need to be conducted as the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow < 3). Therefore, the BCF in aquatic organisms was estimated using the Veith relationship which is also incorporated in EUSES and is applicable for substances with a log Kow up to 6: log BCF = 0.85 log Kow - 0.70. The derived log Kow value of 2.6 for alpha-Terpineol (from Terpineol multi) results in a BCF of 32.4 L/kg ww.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
32.4 L/kg ww
