Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A flash Point 146±2°C at 1013 hPa using a closed cup equilibrium method was determined for the substance in accordance with a relevant test method. The result is considered to be reliable.
Executive summary:

The flashpoint of 2,4-Hexadienoic Acid, 3-(Trimethoxysilyl) Propyl Ester has been determined. Flash Point 146±2°C was obtained using a closed-cup equilibrium method designed to be compatible with EU Method A.9 Flash Point of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Description of key information

Flash point: 146±2°C at 1013 hPa (EU Method A.9)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
146 °C

Additional information

A measured flash point value of 146±2°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with a relevant test method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

The key study is supported by a flash point value of ≥93°C at 1013 using a non-equilibrium closed-cup method and in compliance with GLP. In the same study report, an open-cup flash point value of >200°C at 1013 hPa was also determined for the substance.

A measured flash point of 146±2°C indicates that the substance is not classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
