Description of key information

In accordance with Annex XI section 2 of the Regulation EC 1907/2006, testing for a specific endpoint may be omitted, if it is technically not possible to conduct the study as a consequence of the properties of the substance. 
The following statement was included in a physico-chemical properties study by Walker & White (2010) concerning the feasibility of a partition coefficient study on the test substance:
"No determination was possible according to Methods 107 and/or 117 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and 13 April 2004, respectively, and Method A8 Partition Coefficient of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, due to the following reason:
• During method development, it was noted that the test item is insoluble in n-octanol, water and typical reverse phase HPLC solvents."

The study was considered to be not technically feasible according to the information provided in the Walker & White, 2010 study due to the test item being insoluble in n-octanol, water and typical reverse phase HPLC solvents.

- In the Tsuda et al, 1986 paper, the Log Pow was calculated to be 1.27 ± 0.017.

A reliability rating of 4 was assigned, according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997 as in the study there are interferences between the measuring system and the test substance or in which organsisms/test systems were used which were not relevant to the exposure or which were performed according to a method which is not acceptable, the documentation of which is not sufficient for an assessment to be made and which is not convincing for expert judgement.
