Description of key information

In vitro irritation/corrosion assays to skin and eyes indicate that the test substance Ashes (residues), nonhazardous municipal solid waste has no irritation properties. Instead of In vivo assays (according to Directive 2010/63/EU about replace, reduce or refine testing on vertebrate animals) was used read-across method to determine skin and eyes irritation. All tests were negative.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin irritation / corrosion

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Eye irritation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The irritation or corrosion abilities were not detected neither for skin nor eyes; therefore there is no reason to classify the target substance Ashes (residues), nonhazardous municipal solid waste as irritation for skin and eyes.
