Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Schlemper (1967) published an experimental value of the density 1.6 g/cm3 described as "rough" and provided without method description. The value is not in close agreement with the value that he calculated 1.712 g/cm3, thus the document was deemed inadequate.

Adrianov (1971) reported an experimental value for the density 1.70 g/cm3 measured on the crystalline material sealed in capillaries with no method description, along with a calculated value 1.72 g/cm3. Both values are in good agreement with eachother and support the value of the available study carried out according to standard methods.

In the recent guideline study from O'Connor the density was determined at ambiant laboratory temperature (i.e. 24 °C), however a change in temperature of several degrees will have no significant effect on the volume and hence the density of a solid substance. In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Article 13(3), the relative density value of 1.69 at 20 °C is carried forward for the purpose of risk assessment, classification and labelling.
