Description of key information

Lanthanum acetate was considered not to be corrosive to metal (no classification into class 8/III) following a test according to the C.1 of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria, 5th revised edition 2009 and Section 2.16 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of 16 December 2008 on Classification Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (White, 2013).

Additional information

No significant mass loss was detected when aluminum and steel plates were exposed to both a saturated and a 1% aqueous solution of lanthanum acetate, for seven days at room temperature.
