First-aid measures

General Advice:

Move out of dangerous area.  Consult a physician, providing details of the substance/ product to which the patient has been exposed.

Inhalation:

Move to fresh air.  Consult a physician, providing details of the substance/ product to which the patient has been exposed.

Skin contact:

Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.  Wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and plant of water.  Seek immediate medical attention.  Consult a physician, providing details of the substance/ product to which the patient has been exposed.

Eye contact:

Wash eye(s) immediately with plenty of water.  Seek immediate medical attention.  Consult a physician, providing details of the substance/ product to which the patient has been exposed.

Ingestion:

Clean mouth with water and drink plenty of water.  DO NOT induce vomiting.  Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.  Never give anything by mouth to an unconcious person.  Consult a physician, providing details of the substance/ product to which the patient has been exposed

Fire-fighting measures

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.  Use suitable extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and environment.  Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water.  DO NOT discharge contaminated water to the drains.

Hazardous decomposition products may include Carbon oxides, Sulphur oxides and metal oxides.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Use personal protective equipment.  Ensure adequate ventilation.  Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Environment precautions:

DO NOT flush into surface water or drains.  Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.  If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform  the respective authorities immediately

Methods of containment:

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust, etc).  Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal

Handling and storage

Handling:

Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.  Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.  Dispose of rinse water by collection into a closed vessel for disposal by a licensed disposal operator or at a suitable local authority site.

Storage:

Prevent unauthorised access.  Retain in original containers when not in use.  Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.  Containers which have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.  No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

Hand protection: Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water.

Eye protection: Eye wash bottle with pure water

Skin and body protection: impervious clothing

Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Product: Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.

Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility.

The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.

Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used container.

Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company.

Contaminated packaging:

Dispose of as unused product.

Do not re-use empty containers.
