Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Undecanedioic acid is an organic white powder with a melting point between 110.12 and 111.5°C. The substance begins its decomposition at 259.2 °C before reaching the boiling point and flash point. It has a median particle size (D50) of 17.12 µm. At 20°C, the density of the substance is determined to be 1.184; the water solubility 324.1 mg/L and the coefficient partition 2.8 at 25°C. The saturated vapour pressure was found less than 0.01 KPa at 20°C. Undecanedioic acid was not found to be a flammable substance and did not self-heated up to the limit temperature 400°C. Based on its structure, surface tension, explosiveness and oxidising tests were not performed, as well the test of stability in organic solvents and the viscosity tests (as the substance is a solid). A dissociation constant for the substance was obtained by QSAR calculation: pka1=4.95.
