First-aid measures

- General advice:

Remove patients from the danger zone. Contaminated clothing and footwear must be taken off at once and removed from room. Also

heed the risks to your own person.

- After inhalation:

After inhalation take the patient into the fresh air. If patient has difficulty in breathing, administer oxygen, keep him calm and protect him from loss of warmth. In case of cessation of breathing resuscitation by mouth−to−mouth breathing. In any case consult a physician.

- After skin contact:

Wash skin immediately with plenty of water and soap. If skin reactions occur, contact a physician.

- After eye contact:

Open the eyelids and rinse for an adequate length of time with water. Consult an eye specialist immediately.

- After swallowing:

Ensure that the patient drinks water. The mouth should be rinsed out several times. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents: All extinguishing materials are suitable.

- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:

CO, NOx

- Protective equipment:

Firemen have to wear self−contained breathing apparatus. Fight fire in early stages if safe to do so.

- Additional information:

Fire in vicinity poses risk of pressure build−up and rupture. Containers at risk from fire should be cooled with water and, if possible, removed from the danger area. Vapours can form explosive mixtures with air. Do not let enter contaminated extinguishing water into the soil, groundwater or surface waters.

Accidental release measures

- Person-related safety precautions:

Do not breathe. Avoid contact to skin, eyes and clothing.

- Measures for environmental protection:

Do not let enter into the soil, groundwater or surface waters.

- Measures for cleaning/collecting:

Dam up with absorbing material, e.g. sand. Take up mechanically, fill into labelled, closable containers. Avoid and remove ignition sources and ensure

adequate aeration.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Personal precautions while handling the product:

- respiratory protection:

combination filter against organic vapours and particles, e.g. DIN 3181 ABEK, if the MAK value is exceeded. Respiratory protection with independend breathing system necessary in the case of higher concentations and prolonged exposure.

- hand/skin/body protection:

gloves of rubber or PVC, Impervious protective clothing.

- eye protection:

closely fitting goggles

- Hygene measures:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes and the inhalation of vapour. Wash the hands before breaks. Take a shower or a bath at end of work. Keep working

clothes separate.
