First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
- General advice: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.
- If inhaled: When inhaled remove to fresh air and seek medical aid.
- In case of skin contact: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water
- In case of eye contact: In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice
- If swallowed: In case of problems seek medical advice and show the package or label.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
- Symptoms: No information available.
- Hazards: No information available.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
- Treatment: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
- Suitable extinguishing media: Alcohol-resistant foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide.
- Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Strong water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
- In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO) Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Advice for firefighters:
- Special protective equipment for firefighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
- Wear suitable personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If ventilation insufficient, use a respiratory protection apparatus.
Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter drains or waterways.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
- General advice: Pick up with absorbent material (eg sand, kieselgur, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Pick for disposal in tightly closed containers. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
- Advice on safe handling (industrial scale): Open and handle container with care. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary).
- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading - earthing necessary during loading operations.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
- Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep in original packaging, tightly closed
- Advice on common storage: Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs
- Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and dry

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protective equipment
- General protective measures: Do not inhale vapours Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Protective clothing should be selected specifically for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances handled. The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the respective supplier. A workplace risk assessment must be carried out in order to determine the correct engineering control measures and personal protective equipment.
- Respiratory protection: Breathing apparatus in the event of aerosol or mist formation. Multi-purpose filter ABEK
- Hand protection: In splash contact: Nitrile rubber gloves. Glove material : Camatril® (KCL); Layer thickness : 0,5 mm; Break through time: > 30 min. The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standart EN374. This recommandation applies only to the product stated in this safety data sheet and supplied by us as well as to the purpose specified by us. When dissolving in or mixing with other substances and under conditions deviating from those stated in EN374 please contact the supplier of CE-approved gloves.
- Eye protection: Safety glasses with side protection shield.
- Body Protection: protective clothing
- Additional advice on system design: Used in closed system Handling of product only in a glovebox or safety workbench.
- Hygiene measures: Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity:
No decomposition if used as directed.
Chemical stability:
No decomposition if stored normally.
Hazardous reactions:
No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to prescribed instructions.
For avoidable conditions:
No data available
Incompatible materials:
None known.
Hazardous decomposition products:
No hazardous decomposition products known.
Disposal considerations
Product: In accordance with regulations for special waste, must be taken to an authorised special waste incineration plant.
Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed off as product waste
