Additional information

One experimental study investigating the short-term effects of 2-(1-methylethoxy)ethyl acetate (CAS 19234-20-9) to fish is available (Vryenhoef, 2012). The study was performed according to OECD 203 under GLP conditions with the rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. A preliminary range-finding study resulted in mortality at 100 mg/L and no mortality at 1 mg/L. Therefore, the definitive test was conducted with five concentrations up to 100 mg/L. 100% mortality was observed after 96 h at the nominal concentrations of 56 and 100 mg/L, whereas no mortality was recorded at 32 mg/L. Thus, a LC50 (96 h) of 42 mg/L (nominal) was derived. Measured concentrations using GC/FID were within the range of 80 - 120%. Therefore, the LC50 was based on the nominal concentrations only.
