At approximately -30 °C, an endothermic effect was detected which can be attributed to the melting of the test item. The onset temperatures are -32.65 °C and -32.26 °C.

The melting point of the test item is -32.5 °C.

As confirmation a small sample of the test item was stored at -25 °C in the freezer. A visual inspection of the test item showed that the test item was a viscous liquid, but still a liquid at this temperature.

Conclusions:
The test item has a melting point of -32.5 °C at atmospheric pressure (ca. 1000 mbar) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Method A.1 and OECD Guideline 102.

Description of key information

The test item has a melting point of -32.5 °C at atmospheric pressure (ca. 1000 mbar).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-32.5 °C
