Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.
After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
After eye contact: Irrigate opened eye for 15 minutes minimum (timed) under running water. Obtain immediate medical attention.
After swallowing: Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Seek immediate medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, extinguishing powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases: Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.
In case of fire, the following can be released: Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
Protective equipment: Firefighters should wear self contained breathing apparatus and full personal protective clothing.
Additional information: Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Person-related safety precautions: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Avoid formation of dust. Ensure adequate ventilation
Keep people at a distance and stay on the windward side.
Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course. Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. Damp down dust with water spray.
Measures for cleaning/collecting: Collect material without formation of dust. Dispose of the material collected according to official regulations.
Handling and storage
(Handling)
Information for safe handling: Open and handle receptacle with care. Always wear the recommended PPE. Ensure good local exhaust ventilation at the workplace. Prevent formation of dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Information about protection against explosions and fires: Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke. Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.
(Storage)
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store only in original receptacles. Observe all local/federal/national regulations for storage of chemicals.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from foodstuffs.
Further information about storage conditions: Protect from humidity and moisture.
Maximum storage temperature: 40 °C
Minimum storage temperature: -5 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection
Additional information about design of technical systems: No further data; see 'Handling and storage'.
Components with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: The product does not contain any relevant quantities of materials with critical values that have to be monitored in the workplace.
Additional information: The information is based on data valid at the time of compilation.
Personal protective equipment
General protective and hygienic measures: The usual precautionary measures should be adhered to when handling chemicals. Do not inhale dust / smoke/mist. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Breathing equipment: Use suitable respiratory protective device in case of insufficient ventilation.
Protection of hands: Protective gloves are required. Use suitable working methods to avoid direct contact with the product. Prior to each use, check protective gloves are in a suitable condition. The glove material must be impermeable and resistant to the product/substance/preparation. When selecting suitable glove material, consideration should be given to penetration times, rates of diffusion and degradation of the material.
Material of gloves: Rubber gloves. The selection of suitable gloves should not only be based on the glove material - the quality of the gloves should also be considered, and will vary between manufacturers.
Eye protection: Safety glasses or goggles to BS 2092C.
Body protection: Protective work clothing.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used according to specifications.
Dangerous reactions: Reacts with strong acids. Reacts with strong oxidizing agents.
Dangerous products of decomposition: Sulphur oxides (SOx).
Disposal considerations
(Product)
Recommendation: Must be disposed of according to local and national regulations. Must not be disposed of together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.
European waste catalogue: The waste disposal key number has to be assigned according to the European waste catalogue depending on the branch and process.
(Uncleaned packagings)
Recommendation: Dispose of packaging according to regulations on the disposal of packagings.
Recommended cleansing agent: Water, if necessary with cleansing agents.
