Description of key information

For short-term toxicity to daphnids, one study is available on a structurally related compound according to OECD Guideline 202.
This key study revealed a 48-h EC50 value for Daphnia magna of > 10000 mg/L with silicic acid, calcium salt (Shieldex AC3) as test substance (Weyandt and Lebertz 1999). Only the screening test with three concentrations (100, 1000 and 10000 mg/L as eluates) was carried out, since no immobilisation of daphnids was observed up to the highest tested concentration.
