Readily biodegradable: 90% (DOC) in 19 days (EU Method C.4-B, Modified OECD Screening Test)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

Ready biodegradability of 4-tert-butylcyclohexanol was investigated in a non-GLP study according to EU-Method C.4-B with domestic activated sludge as inoculum (96-0464-DKO). Based on DOC removal, 4-tert-butylcyclohexanol attained 90% degradation within 19 days. Hence, 4-tert-butylcyclohexanol can be classified as readily biodegradable according to the strict OECD criteria.
