Description of key information

The boiling point of 2-Methyl-p-phenylenediaminesulfate (Haarbraun) was determined following guideline OECD 103 (Boiling Point / Boiling Range).
Haarbraun has no boiling point at atmospheric pressure as it decomposed at a temperature of 240°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling point of 2-Methyl-p-phenylenediaminesulfate (Haarbraun) was determined following guideline OECD 103 (Boiling Point / Boiling Range).

Boiling point of the test material was determined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) method. The test material was heated up from ambient temperature to the final temperature (400°C) at a constant heating rate (10 K/min) in a defined atmosphere (nitrogen). The quantity of heat absorbed or released was measured and recorded.

Decomposition of test material was observed and the test material color changed from light pink to black.

Haarbraun has no boiling point at atmospheric pressure as it decomposed at a temperature of 240°C.
