Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove affected person from the immediate area. Ensure
supply of fresh air. In case of indisposition seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Separate eyelids and rinse for 15 minutes with plenty of
water. If irritation occurs, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash off immediately with soap
and water. If irritation occurs, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If person is conscious: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.

Seek medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam, carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Carbon oxides (CO, CO2), nitric oxides, sulfur oxides.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective
clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Do not allow to enter drains or waterways. Wear protective
clothing (safety goggles, gloves). Take up with absorbent
material (e.g. sand, kieselguhr, universal binder).

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the
regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The usual precautions for the handling with chemicals should
be observed. Wear appropriate goggles (e.g., tightly
closing protection glasses).

Splashproof filling apparatus should be used when handling
the aqueous preparation.

Storage: The preparation should be stored in tightly closed
containers in a dry, cool and well ventilated place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Integrated bulk container (1000 l).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of 95-98 % by
irreversible binding to the fiber.

Recovery for recycling of the remaining highly water soluble
substance is not reasonably practicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No unacceptable risks. Therefore not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge in a controlled deposit is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Discharge by incineration in suitable plant is possible.

The substance contains only the following elements:

C, H, O, S, N and Na.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is estimated that far less than 5 % of the total quanti-

ty used is discharged into internal industrial effluents as
a highly diluted solution. Dye-houses are well aware of this
waste-water and remedy it by installing prepurification
plants.

Parts of it will be discharged into industrial effluents.
