Additional information
Although no data were located regarding the toxicity of maleic anhydride or maleic acid in terrestrial animals, the low toxicity in laboratory animals suggests that their toxicity to terrestrial mammals in general would also be low.
In this situation the terrestrial tests can be waived and the PNEC in terrestrial environment can be estimated by the aquatic PNEL using the EPM.
