Description of key information
A measured Koc is not available for any of the streams in this category. Soil sorption of non-ionic substances can be estimated from their log Kow. Several QSAR models have been developed that calculate the Koc of non-polar hydrocarbons on the basis of their log Kow (e.g. Sablijc and Gusten, 1995). The log Kow of eight representative components of the streams have been calculated using this model. The calculated log Koc are in the range 2.44 -4.55.
