Executive summary:

Based on published experimental data on analogue butanone oxime, where a bioaccumulation test in carp fish was performed by MITI during 6 weeks in an aqueous flow-through system and the biocconcentration factor was determined to be (0.5)-(0.6) at a concentration of 2 ppm, and <2.5 -(5.8) at a concentration of 0.2 ppm, the read-across was applied and butan-2-one O,O',O''-(methylsilanetriyl)oxime was determined to have a low bioconcentration potential.

Using the BCFBAF v3.01model of EPI Suite v4.1, the BCF of butanone oxime was 3.162 L/kg wet-wt (log BCF from regression-based method = 0.500).


 


It should be also taken into accoun that the substance undergoes rapid hydrolysis (half-life < 1h) in aqueous to 2-butanone oxime and methylsilanetriol. The estimated log octanol-water partition coefficients (Log Kow) for the degradation products, 2 -butanone oxime and methylsilanetriol were estimated to be 1.69 and -2.36 (EPI-Suite, KOWWIN v1.68). According to Verschueren et al (2009) the Log Kow of 2 -butanone oxime was reported to be 0.36. Morevoer, the corresponding silanols undergo continuous condensation reactions to produce higher molecular weight siloxanes which are considered biologically unavailable.


 


Based on the available information, the test item is determined to have low bioconcentration potential based on the properties of its degradation products.
