Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

By analogy with cerium dioxide, dicerium tricarbonate should not show any toxicity to Eisenia foetida.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An experimental study, scored as Klimisch 2 (Hooftman R N & Henzen L, 1996) is selected as a key study, showing that cerium dioxide is not harmfull to Eiseinia Foetida.

No significant effect with respect to survival, weight, behaviour or appearance was observed. The NOEC is equal or higher than 1000 mg/kg dry soil.

As cerium dioxide is considered as not harmful to the tested terrestrial organism, we can clonclude that dicerium tricarbonate should not be considered as harmful to this terrestrial organism neither.
