First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes and seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention, symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides
together with some metal oxide smoke. A self-contained
breathing apparatus should be used. Suitable extinguishing
agents are water mist, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Damp down and sweep up powder. Transfer to waste containers
for disposal by incineration or at an authorised landfill
site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in
conformity with local regulations. Avoid exposure by
swallowing, inhalation, skin and eye contact. Eye
protection should be worn. If there is a danger of dust
inhalation, respirators or dust masks (eg BS 6016 Type 2 or
3M Catalogue Nos. 8710, 8715, 9913 or 9920) should be worn.

Storage: Store in a cool place.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Treatment with alkali results in the hydrolysis of the
substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a landfill site is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is possible. However, waste gas treatment to
remove nitrogen and metal oxides should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be allowed to enter water
purification systems. If this should occur by accident, it
may be removed by filtration. No serious effects are
envisaged.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from preparations is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Paper coated with the substance and waste toner may be
disposed of as office waste.
