Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a study conducted according to German standard guideline DIN 38412, part 9 the growth rate of Scenedesmus subspicatus was inhibited by 50 % at a concentration of 2 -(2 -aminoethylamino)ethanol of 358 mg/l after 72 hours. (BASF AG, 1989; BASF SE, 2013). The inhibition of algal growth by the substance was diminished in treatments with pH adjustment.

In a study conducted according to ISO 10253 (Water quality - Marine Algal Growth Inhibition Test with Skeletonema costatum and Phaeodactylum tricornutum) the growth rate of Skeletonema costatum was inhibited by 50 % at a concentration of 2 -(2 -aminoethylamino)ethanol of 920 mg/l after 72 hours (Eide-Haugmo, 2009, 2012).
