Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Stability

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. The test item was completely hydrolyzed after 2 h at 50°C.

Biodegradation

The substance is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.

Bioaccumulation

Regarding the 1 -octanol/water partition coefficient, accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.

Transport and distribution

A QSAR estimation was performed to fulfill this endpoint. The KOC value was determined to be 10 and the log KOC value was determined to be 1.

Additional information

Stability

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. Hydrolysis was investigated according to OECD guideline 111. In this study the test item was completely hydrolyzed after 2 h at 50°C.

Biodegradation

Four readily biodegradable studies according to OECD criteria are available. Two studies were tested with freshwater one was tested with salt water. As a result the test substance is classified as readily biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation

There are neither aquatic nor terrestric studies for bioaccumulation of the substance available. The assessment of bioaccumulation based on the 1-octanol/water partition coefficientsof-2 [BASF AG, 2002].Regarding the 1-octanol/water partition coefficient, accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.

Transport and distribution

A QSAR estimation was performed to fulfill this endpoint. The KOC value was determined to be 10 and the log KOC value was determined to be 1. Henry´s law constant at 25°C was estimated to be 1.09E-006 Pa*m3/mole by SRC HENRYWIN v3.20. From the water surface the substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere. The substance will preferentially distribute into the compartment water.
