Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice :
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
Inhalation:
Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Obtain medical attention.
Skin contact :
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and water. Obtain medical attention.
Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Ingestion : Do NOT induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water mist, Dry chemical, Foam
Unsuitable extinguishing media : High volume water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture : Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.
Hazardous combustion products : Carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx), Fumes
Special protective actions for fire-fighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Specific methods : In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray. Contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed
of in accordance with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures : Material can create slippery conditions. Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions : Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up : Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national regulations.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling :
Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat. Keep away from direct sunlight.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities : Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
Materials for packaging : Suitable material: original container, Stainless steel
Materials to avoid: Oxidizing agents
Specific end uses : Drilling applications, Emulsifier, Wetting agent

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment :
Hand protection; Glove material: PVC, Glove material: Polyethylene. Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
Eye protection; Safety glasses
Skin and body protection; Protective suit
Respiratory protection; not required under normal use . In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Respirator with A-P2 filter.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity : No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.
Chemical stability : Stable under normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions; Hazardous reactions : None known.
Conditions to avoid; Conditions to avoid : No decomposition if used as directed.
Incompatible materials; Materials to avoid : Oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products; Hazardous decomposition : Carbon oxides, Smoke
Thermal decomposition : >300 °C
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods: Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility. In accordance with local and national regulation
