Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Daphnia acute

Tested Read across analogues

Pigment Yellow 12: Under the conditions of the present test, the test substance induced no effects in Daphnia magna exposed to a filtered solution prepared at a loading of 100 mg/I (NOEC)

Pigment Yellow 13: As the test item is an aqueous dispersion of the submission substance with the submission substance accounting for 39.6% of the test item, the results are considered adequate to fulfill the endpoint requirements. The test results based on the content of the submission substance in the test item would be:

EC10 and EC50 (both 24 and 48 hours) > 396 mg/L.

Daphnia chronic

No toxicity of Pigments Yellow 83 and 13, the structural analogue of Pigment Yellow 83, was found in reliable (category 1) OECD 211-tests (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test) with nominal concentrations well above the solubility limit.

Therefore, PY 83 is to be regarded as chronically nontoxic to invertebrates.

Alga

The NOEC equalled the maximum solubility. The EC50for both algal growth inhibition and growth rate reduction exceeded the maximum solubility of the test item in test medium (nominal concentration 100 mg/L).

Fish acute

Under the conditions of this test the LC50 of 3 Diarylide pigments after 96 hours was > 100 mg/L (based an nominal concentration) and is above the solubility limit of the test substance in the test water.
