Description of key information

According to Section 9.2.1.3, Annex IX of REACH, a simulation test on the degradation of Slimes and Sludges in soil is required. However, such a study is not applicable to this material as the test substance is an inorganic material, it does not undergo biodegradation i.e. microbial degradation to carbon dioxide and water, since it does not contain any carbon or hydrogen atoms in its chemical formula. This material will be degraded in the environment in other ways than by biodegradation. Therefore, the simulation test on the degradation of Slimes and Sludges in soil is scientifically unjustified.
