- Details on results (HPLC method):
- Only peak 4 eluted in the calibrated range. Therefore, only the log KOC of this peak can be used for further evaluation. No calculation is possible for peak 5, because the peak did not elute in the isocratic part of the HPLC program
Other 4 test item peaks were detected, which eluted before the first reference item (Acetanilide with log KOC 1.25) and after the last reference item (DDT with log KOC 5.63), the log KOC of the test item is stated as range < 1.25 – > 5.63. - Validity criteria fulfilled:

- Conclusions:
- Variations in the retention times of reference items and test item are very small. Therefore, a stable configuration of the HPLC-column can be assumed.
The correlation log k’/log KOC is good: the coefficient of determination r2 was calculated with 0.9974. This value was considered as sufficiently high to use the calibration function for the determination of the log KOC of the test item TACOIL
Only one peak (peak 4) eluted in the calibrated range. Therefore, only the log KOC = 2.27 of this peak can be used for further evaluation.
As other test item peaks were detected, which eluted before the first reference item (Acet-anilide with log KOC 1.25) and after the last reference item (DDT with log KOC 5.63), the log KOC of the test item is stated as range < 1.25 – > 5.63.
Peak areas cannot be used for further evaluation, because the test item components are estimated to show different UV sensitivity (e.g., paraffinic hydrocarbons with low UV sen-sitivity and aromatic hydrocarbons with high sensitivity). Therefore, the amount of the test item, eluting in the calibrated range, is not evaluable.
No observations were made which might give doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
