In accordance with Step 1 of Annex I of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and in compliance with Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.3: Information gathering Version 1.1 December 2011, a literature search was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the collected data were evaluated. Jürgen Falbe, Helmut Bahrmann, Wolfgang Lipps and Dieter Mayer (2005), as cited in Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry 21 Jan 2011, report the melting point of the test substance to be -11.9 °C. The GESTIS database reports the melting point to be -8.9 °C. The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 86th Edition 2005-2006 reports the melting point to be -9.1 °C .

Jürgen Falbe, Helmut Bahrmann, Wolfgang Lipps and Dieter Mayer (2005), as cited in Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry 21 Jan 2011, report the melting point of the test substance to be -11.9 °C. Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry 21 Jan 2011 is commonly regarded as reliable source. Thus, the reported value was regarded as reliable and was therefore considered for this weight of evidence approach.

The authoritative database from the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (GESTIS database) was regarded as reliable literature source and was taken into account in this weight of evidence approach. The melting point of the test item was determined to be -8.9°C.

According to the ECHA guidance IR/CSA R7a (May 2008) the CRC handbook is regarded as reliable literature source and was taken into account in this weight of evidence approach. The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 86th Edition 2005-2006 reports the melting point to be -9.1 °C .
