Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

P

Due to the physico-chemical properties of the substance, in particular the very low water solubility of 12.5 µg/L, it was not possible to apply a standard test method to assess the biodegradation potential.

Since the stability of the substance is a desired application property it can be assumed that the substance is not or only very slowly biodegraded and the P-criterion is accepted.

Not B

In ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.11 a screening criterion for the decision on B properties based on log pow is provided. In absence of information on bioaccumulation a substance is considered not to possess B or vB properties, if its log pow is ≤ 4.5.

For C.I. Pigment Orange 68 a log pow of 1.2 was determined.

Not T

Based on the results of the aquatic toxicity studies (IUCLID section 6.1) the substance was considered not toxic (not T). Also, relevant mammalian toxicity studies (see IUCLID section 7) showed no toxicity for long-term endpoints, ruling out the conclusion of being toxic according to Annex XIII of REACH.

Likely routes of exposure:

The submission substance is not PBT or vPvB. Therefore no emission characterization is required.
