The sample was degassed at 19 - 20 °C for approximately 18 hours overnight. During testing with the sample, the temperature was held at 50°C; however, the sample did not reach a stable equilibration over a 28 hour period. Over a 4.5 hour period the pressure was observed to increase from 0.2166 to 2.6 mbar. The sample was taking excessive time to reach an equilibrium pressure at a given temperature therefore it is suspected that the test material contains trapped solvents/ gasses or volatile impurities. Therefore, it is not expected that meaningful data can be obtained from this experiment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

The EC A.4 Static method proved to be not suitable for the determination of the vapour pressure of the substance as a pressure equilibrium at constant temperature could not be reached.
