Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- adsorption / desorption: screening
- Data waiving:
- study technically not feasible
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption
- Justification for type of information:
- Various attempts were made to dissolve the substance in different media and as expected no dissolution of the material could be achieved (see pre-tests for in vitro mutagenicity studies). Also the use of solubilisers such as Tween 80 did not improve the results and the substance remained entirely insoluble. As the substance essentially only consist of carbon, a specific analytical method able to distinguish from carbon eluted from soil is also not possible. The only option for an analytical method that could be envisaged is 14C-labelling, but manufacturing the substance by using 14C as a marker is virtually impossible and thus 14C-marked test substance cannot be manufactured/synthesized. Based on the structure no adsorption is expected for substance and degradation by oxygen in the environment is expected to appear over time, thus converting the substance finally over some time into carbon dioxide.

Description of key information
Due to lack of solubility the study is technically not feasible to be performed; no adsorption is expected.
