Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For both 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid, compound with 2,2’,2’’-nitrilotriethanol and 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid, reliable tests demonstrate ready biodegradability. The 10 day-window was fulfilled in the respective tests.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

Both, the key study performed with 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid, compound with 2,2’,2’’-nitrilotriethanol (reliability category 1) and the key study on 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid (reliability category 2) clearly demonstrate ready biodegradability (94% within 22 days and 98% within 28 days, respectively) in OECD 301 A-Tests (DOC Die-Away).

Additional tests on inherent biodegradability support these results. 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid, compound with 2,2’,2’’-nitrilotriethanol (97% within 11 days, RL1) and 6-(isononanoylamino)hexanoic acid (93% within 17 days; RL1) proved to be inherently biodegradable in Zahn-Wellens-tests (OECD 302 B). In both of the OECD 302 B-studies elimination due to adsorption was accounted for (determined however to be negligible).
