Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the density of the test substance using the immersed body method (a buoyancy method for liquids) according to DIN EN ISO 2811 -2. A vessel containing sample of the liquid test substance was placed on the balance and weighed. A sphere of known volume, which was clamped to a stand independent from the balance was immersed in the test substance and the weight gain was noted. The density of the test substance was calculated by dividing the gain in weight due to the immersion of the body by the known volume of the body. The test was carried out at the constant temperature of 20°C. The volume of the sphere was calibrated with distilled water. Under the study conditions, the density of the test substance was 0.95 g/cm3 at 20°C (Sohar, 2015).

Description of key information
