Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
November 03, 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The Differential Scanning Calorimetry method was used for the evaluation of melting and boiling points of the test substance. Test was performed according to the SOP - SRT 028 protocol.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 350 °C

Between 28 -155 °C (onset at 28°C, enthalpy = -185 J/g) an endothermic peak was recorded, followed by a exothermic peak related to degradation of the product from 350 °C.

Conclusions:
The test substance decomposes before melting from 350 °C.
Executive summary:

Method

The test was performed according to internationally accepted testing procedures, using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method for the analysis.

Result

Between 28 -155 °C (onset at 28°C, enthalpy = -185 J/g) an endothermic peak was recorded, followed by a exothermic peak related to degradation of the product from 350 °C.

Description of key information
