Analytical Results:

All values refer to TOC determinations. According to the relevant product informations 1 mg/L TOC equals to 1.4 mg/L of the test substance (structural formula: C10-H14-02; molecular weight: 166.24 g/mole).

The test result refers to a concentration of the test substance, which was calculated directly from analytically determined TOC values. According to the relevant product informations, 1 mg/L equals to 1.4 mg/L of the test substance structural formula; molecular weight: 166.24 g/mole).

Conclusions:
The test item had no acute toxic effects on Daphnia magna in a 48-h static test according to EU Method C.2 and GLP up to 100 mg/L (nominal). Immobilisation of Daphnia magna was observed after 48 h resulting in an EC50 > 100 mg/L (> 97.3 mg/L based on the arithmetic mean).

Additional information

One experimental study is available investigating the short-term effects of the substance to aquatic invertebrates. The study was performed according to the EU Method C.2 (GLP) with the water flea Daphnia magna. A limit test with a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L including a control was performed under static conditions. Test concentrations were verified by TOC-analysis at the beginning and end of the exposure period. The nominal concentration of the highest test item concentration was 71 mg/L at test start (corresponds to 99.4 mg/L based on arithemtic mean measured concentration) and 68 mg/L at test end (corresponds to 95.2 mg/L based on arithemtic mean measured concentration). Immobilisation of D.magna was not observed after 48 h resulting in an EC50 (48 h) of >100 mg/L (>97.3 mg/L based on the arithmetic mean measured concentration).
