Description of key information

Appearance:

The physical observation of C.I. Pigment red 81 was observed to be an organic compound with dark pink coloured powder in appearance.

Melting point:

Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43, the melting point of chemical C.I.Pigment red 81 was  estimated to be 256.52  degree C

Boiling point:

Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43, the Boiling point of chemical C.I.Pigment red 81 was  estimated to be 594.02 ˚C.

Density:

The density of chemical C.I.Pigment red 81 was estimated to be 1.18 ± 0.1 g/cm3

Particle size distribution (Granulometry) :

The particle size distribution of C.I.Pigment red 81 was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be in the range of 147 micron to 52 micron.

Vapour pressure:

The estimated vapour pressure of the test substance C.I.Pigment red 81 at 25 deg C was 4.19E-011 Pa.

Partition coefficient:

The octanol water partition coefficent (log Pow) of chemicalXanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate(CAS no. 12224 -98 -5) was estimated to be 7.4364 at temparature 25oC by using Estimation Program Interface (EPI suite) KOWWIN program V1.68. By this log Pow value chemical 1-(bromomethyl)-3-methylbenzene is considered as hydrophobic in nature.

Water solubility:

The water solubility of C.I.Pigment red 81 was determined to be in the range of 1000 - 5000 mg/L at 18.5 deg C.

Surface tension:

Based on the prediction done by ACD labs, the surface tension for chemical C.I.Pigment red 81 was predicted to be 50.6 ± 5.0 dyne/cm.

Flash point:

The flash point of Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate (12224 -98 -5) was calculated to be 372.55 degree C. Based on criteria mentioned in CLP regulation the substance Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate was considered to be non flammable.

Autoflammability:

Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C and atmospheric pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate is not auto-flammable.

Flammability:

Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus Xanthylium, 9-[2-(ethoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-3,6-bis(ethylamino)-2,7-dimethyl-, molybdatetungstatephosphate was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.

Explosivenss:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Oxidising properties:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Viscosity:

This end point was considered for waiver since viscosity is an inherent property of a liquid that offers resistance to its flow and C.I.Pigment red 81 is a solid substance and hence this testing was considered scientifically unjustified for C.I.Pigment red 81.
