Title:
Structure Changes in Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Micelles Induced by Using Counterion Complexation by Macrocyclic Ligands.

Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Experiments with ligands which form complexes with sodium
showed, that the micellization of SDS is dependent on
counter-ion specific effects. The CMC, aggregation number
and the ionization of the micelles was altered considerably.

Results and discussion

Results:
Without ligand, a CMC value of 8 mmol/l at 25 degrees C and an aggregation number of 64 was determined.
