Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Oxidising properties:

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VII, Column 2, 7.13, a study on the oxidizing properties of the substance does not need to be conducted if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of chemical structure. As this molecule contains no functional group associated with oxidizing properties (nitrate, nitrite, organic nitro, fluorodinitro, metal oxides, N-halogen derivatives, difluoroamino derivatives, or oxohalogen derivatives), it is not considered as an oxidizing chemical, and is not expected to increase the combustion of other substances. Hence, the criterion for this adaptation are met. Chemicals are excluded from being oxidisers if oxygen, fluorine or chlorine is bonded only to carbon and hydrogen. As the structure of this substance contains neither oxygen nor halogens, it is not an oxidiser and the criterion for this adaptation are met.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance does not meet the criterion for an oxidising chemical, and is not classified.
