According to the EU guideline A.9, the flash-point is the lowest temperature, corrected to a pressure of 1013 hPa, at which a liquid evolves vapours, under the conditions defined in the test method, in such an amount that a flammable vapour/air mixture is produced in the test vessel.

In a DSC analysis up to 450 °C, no melting is recorded and decomposition occurs between 195 and 240 °C.
