from 2017-05-25 to 2017-06-14
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no

Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

Three replicate tests were performed. In the course of this study the test item did not self-ignite up to the melting point (determined to be 153.5 °C). Thus, no self-ignition temperature could be stated.

Conclusions:
The test item did not self-ignite up to the melting point. Thus, no self-ignition temperature can be stated.
Executive summary:

A study according to Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 Method A.16 was conducted to determine the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item. The tests were started from ambient oven temperature. The temperature of the oven and sample were continuously recorded with a thermosensor while the temperature of the oven was increased at a rate of approximately 0.6 °C/min, the temperature of the sample was increased by about 0.5 °C/min up to the melting point (determined to be 153.5 °C). In the course of this study the test item did not self-ignite up to the melting point of the test item. Thus, no self-ignition temperature could be stated.

Description of key information

The test item did not self-ignite up to the melting point. Thus, no self-ignition temperature can be stated.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
